ALOEVERA has it all...
Greek physicians advocated using aloevera for burns in the first century A.D. It has been used as a home remedy for burns and skin care ever since that time. Aloe gel is commonly used for burns, insect stings, scratches, itches, pimples, allergies, irritations, rashes, dermatitis and other skin problems. These days, it is found in a number of high-grade skin care products too.
Aloe Vera is 99 percent water and contains substances known as glycoproteins and polysaccharides. Research has shown aloe has anti - inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial qualities with special benefits to skin health. Cleopatra, who lived from 68 to 30 B.C., is said to have used the gel on her skin as protection from the sun, and to have thought the gel helped to keep her skin young - looking!
But only in the recent years, scientists have conducted research to determine whether it lives up to its reputation. Some have found that aloe contains certain anti - inflammatory compounds and acts as an antibacterial agent.
Aloevera can be grown indoors in pots as it grows about two feet tall. The juice from the leaves of this succulent plant is often used in skincare ingredients because of its soothing, protecting and moisturising properties. It also provides good treatment for burns and skin ailments.
Aloevera as a Home Remedy :-
For skin that is wrinkled or skin having sun spots, apply the juice of 1 or 2 leaves of an aloevera plant on the affected part. This could take several months of use before you get the results.
To clear the skin of freckles, add 1/4th cup of lemon juice to aloevera and get radiant , glowing skin.
Cut open the leaf of aloevera and apply immediately after a burn occurs, to relieve the pain and prevent scarring. Use this gel form for burns - it fights infection and speeds up the healing process of the skin tissue.
If you suffer from asthma, boil some leaves of aloevera in a pan of water and inhale the vapours. Put a towel over the head and pan to get the full effects of the vapours.
Aloevera can be used as a gargle for congestion and wheezing allergies. Put several leaves of aloevera along with several cups of water to boil. Strain well and use as a gargle.
Aloevera juice can also be used to treat varicose veins. Apply the juice directly to the area. It is good for any skin injury - sores or wounds and soothes the skin.
Applying fresh Aloe Vera gel to the damaged area helps the epidermis of skin recover faster. The nutritive mineral zinc present in this healing plant is anti - inflammatory and prevents the skin from swelling.
It is also a bowel regulator. Place the juice from aloevera in water and place in the refrigerator. Drink this as often as desired.
